walking in the badlands III

What is the white flower? We have that here and call it a butterfly bush (buddlea). The Appalachian Mountains here were settled by the Immigrants from Scotland and Ireland because the land in our area looks so similar to their homelands.

    • Hi Kat I’d say it was what we would call Chinese Buddlia it is utterly invasive and you can look up and find it growing in gutters out of walls. This is an unusual form being white instead of purple. I’m toying of doing a series just about Chinese Buddlia. I wish I knew a naturalist we could bully into going on S &I’s walks… there are so many things I want to ask about plants and how nature regenerates in manmade spaces.
