When I went to Cambridge I made a quick visit to Kettle’s Yard. Its one of the most unusual galleries in the world possibly. Created by Jim Eade a curator from the Tate. He wanted his collection to be displayed and enjoyed in a domestic setting. So even today you can walk about sit on chairs. Once when visiting I was so tired I lay down and had nap on the sofa!
I didn’t take any photographs inside but this virtual tour gives you an idea of the look. Its sparse but rich in detail and patina at the same time. It made me want to come home and get rid of loads of stuff.
